New Delhi: Indian Railways on Sunday said it plans to start phased passenger train services from May 12, and initially run 15 pairs of trains (up-down and 30 trains) on selected routes. At the same time, the railways said that the passengers who have reserved seats in these trains have to reach the railway station at least one hour before the departure time.

Indian Railways said that initially all 15 Rajdhani Trains will have air-conditioned services on the route and the fare will be the same as that of Super-Yast trains.

The trains will run from New Delhi to Dibrugarh, Agartala, Howrah, Patna, Bilaspur, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Secunderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Jammu.

The official said bookings would be made for all 72 seats in the coaches of these trains upside down from labor trains and its fare is not likely to be discounted in any way. A maximum of 54 passengers are allowed to travel in one compartment in Shramik special trains.

All passenger train services have been closed since March 25 due to nationwide lockdown due to Covid-19. Booking will start at this time.

As per the information, the booking booking counter above the stations will be closed. And no ticket counter will be provided including platform tickets. This booking will be made only from the IRCTC website. The booking will start at 4 p.m.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal wrote in a tweet that the railways is planning to start passenger trains at the same time. Which will start from May 12. Initially 15 pairs of special trains will be launched. The train will start from New Delhi and travel to different stations across the country.

Trains will also run on other routes

Indian Railways says that after these 15 pairs of trains, they will run special trains on other routes as well. He said tourist services would be started on other routes on other routes depending on the availability of Kochi after reserving 20000 coaches as Kovid-19 care center and reserving about 300 labor special trains daily to transport migrant workers to the destination.

Mandatory wearing of mask

Passengers are required to wear a face mask to avoid any inconvenience during the journey. The railways have said that every passenger at the station will have to go through screening during departure. Passengers will only be allowed if they do not have any signs of transition.
